Mikel Arteta 'asks Arsenal chiefs' to sign Real Madrid star in January transfer window

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly asked club chiefs to sign Isco from Real Madrid in January. Isco is linked with a move away from Real after falling out of favour Zinedine . Manchester City are claimed to have shown an interest in the Spain international.

Isco has started just three of Real’ La Liga matches so far this season and is yet to complete 90 minutes.

Arsenal are in the market for a creative midfielder after out on Lyon star in the summer.

Aouar remains a target for the Gunners, as does Red Bull Salzburg’s Hungary international Dominik Szoboszlai.

But now appears there is another option for Arteta in fellow Spaniard Isco.

Spanish outlet Defensa Central say Arteta has asked for the signing of Isco in January.

The Gunners initially want to sign the 28-year-old on a loan deal, with the option to make it permanent next summer.

The report says there is yet to be an offer from Arsenal, who already have on loan from the Bernabeu.

Isco is not happy with his game time at Real and wants to leave at some point this season, whether that be in January or at the end of the campaign.
