Barcelona are on a two-game win streak coming into Saturday afternoon’s match against Valencia, yet Ronald Koeman thinks they should still be doing better in front of goal.
The Blaugrana were able to score one goal against Levante, with Lionel Messi striking late on, before Jordi Alba and Frenkie de Jong scored two first-half goals against Real Sociedad in midweek.
“We always create [chances], but we must be more clinical,” Koeman stated during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
The Dutchman was asked about his time at Valencia, which ended badly and saw him fall out with some key members of the dressing room.
“As everyone knows, Valencia will not be the best memory I will have had as a coach,” Koeman said tongue-in-cheek.
“It could be that I was wrong with some decisions. It was a short stay, but at least we won something: the Copa [del Rey].
“It is a complicated place, because for the last 15 years they’ve changed coaches [a lot]. No peace of mind to work.”
