I’m 100% fit’: Christian Pulisic gives Chelsea a boost ahead of FA Cup final with Arsenal
Christian Pulisic has declared himself ‘100% fit’ for Saturday’s FA Cup final between Chelsea and Arsenal at Wembley.
The 21-year-old winger missed the 3-1 semi-final win over Manchester United with a minor injury and then came on as a substitute in the 5-3 league defeat at Liverpool a few days later.
Pulisic started Chelsea’s final Premier League game against Wolves on Sunday, which ended in a 2-0 win, but he was replaced with 12 minutes to go as a precaution.
However, Pulisic told ESPN: ‘I never had a real issue. I’m 100% fit.’
The announcement will come as a boost to Lampard and Chelsea, who are seeking their ninth FA Cup success and second big final victory over Arsenal in a year after beating them 4-1 to lift last season’s Europa League trophy.
Pulisic has singled out his fomer Borussia Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a major threat after he amassed 27 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this term.
‘I know him quite well,’ Pulisic added. ‘He is incredible, the way he gets in good areas. He’s always dangerous, so we are definitely going to have to be cautious of that, and they have some other good players. But he is definitely one guy that you have to look out for.
‘We’ll always be good friends. I played together with him for a long time.
‘Right now, we are definitely focused and want to win. It is going to be a good battle; and not so much on the pitch, but we will always be friends off the pitch.
