Andreas Pereira in talks with Serie A outfit Lazio with discussions focusing on an initial loan
Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is discussing a move to Italian side Lazio.
Talks have centred on an initial loan with the option of a permanent transfer next summer. United also want a ten percent sell-on.
Pereira was left out of United’s squad for their first two Premier League games of the season against Brighton and Crystal Palace, as well as for their Carabao Cup tie at Luton in midweek.
The United academty product’s chances of first-team minutes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have taken a further hit following the arrival of Donny van de Beek in a £40m deal from Ajax.
Pereira – who made 40 appearances last season, scoring two goals and recording four assists – has therefore emerged as a target for Lazio, who are looking for midfield signings after missing out on former Manchester City star David Silva.
Meanwhile, United discussions for Porto’s Alex Telles are ongoing and they will consider a last approach to Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.
Dortmund have been adamant in recent weeks that the £108million-rated England international will stay with them for the season amid concerns United do not have the resources available to test the Germans resolve in this window.
But with pressure growing at Old Trafford for them to add a forward, the club are expected to offer around £65m plus achievable add ons up to £90m for Sancho.
Winger Daniel James, meanwhile, wants to stay and fight for his place despite interest from Leeds United and Crystal Palace.
